33rd Conference of the WUWM at Gurugram

Wholesale market association officials from 250 countries meet at the 33rd Conference of the WUWM at Gurugram from 10th to 12th October

New Delhi:

For the first time in India, the 33rd Conference of the World Union of Wholesale Market (WUWM) will be held in Gurugram; Haryana from 10th October to 12th October. The conference is being organized by the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board.

Principal Secretary of Haryana’s Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Department, Dr.AbhilakshLikhi, conducted a meeting with officials of the Agricultural Marketing Board and various related departments in New Delhi to discuss the format, procedure, programs, participants, management and give necessary guidelines. The 33rd conference of the wholesale market World Federation, being held in India, is the second conference in Asia. Earlier, the 30th conference of the wholesale market world association was held in China in 2015.

During the 32nd conference of Bulk Market World Sangha held in Barcelona Spain, a contract was signed by the Haryana Government to organize the 33rd conference in Haryana. In the 33rd conference being organized in Gurugram, the office bearers of different wholesale market associations of around 250 countries of the world will participate. Different leading business establishments of the country will also participate in the conference. 33rd Conference is being organized in coordination with the National Council of Agricultural Marketing Boards of States.

It is worth noting that the 33rd conference is being organized on the diversification of crops, digitization of value chain integration, partnership of international market and marketing, e-trade, cold chain, and other related topics. Various wholesale market associations from different countries participating in the conference will also visit the vegetable markets of Haryana State.

Mr. Mandeep Barad, Chief Administrator, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, Shri RC Bidhan, Managing Director, Haryana State Warehouse Corporation, Shri Arjun Saini, Director General, Department of Horticulture, Indian Director of Bulk Market, World Union, participated in the meeting of officials held at Haryana Bhawan in New Delhi. Dr. J. S. Mr. Rajkumar Beniwal, Chief Marketing Promotion Officer of the Agriculture Marketing Board, Yadav and other officials were also present.
